Album Release Website Design (Squarespace): Stephanie Sammons
A custom Squarespace website designed to announce an independent album
Announcing an album is about more than releasing new music… it's about inviting listeners into the artist's story.
For singer-songwriter Stephanie Sammons, the goal was to create a website that felt both personal and artistic, introducing visitors to her latest album while showcasing the songwriting, accolades, and artistic journey behind the music.
The result is a custom Squarespace website that blends storytelling with strategic design, giving fans, media outlets, venues, and industry professionals one place to discover Stephanie's work.
Homepage
The homepage was designed around a single objective: introducing visitors to Head Noise.
Rather than overwhelming users with lots of options, the homepage immediately highlights the upcoming album release before leading visitors deeper into Stephanie's story, recent accomplishments, and music.
This focused approach helps first-time visitors quickly understand who Stephanie is while giving returning fans easy access to her latest project.
Designing Around the Album Artwork
One of the biggest advantages of this project was starting with such a strong visual identity.
The artwork for Head Noise set the tone for the entire website. From the color palette and typography to the spacing, textures, and overall mood. Rather than designing a website first and trying to fit the album into it later, we allowed the album artwork to become the creative foundation for the entire online experience.
This is something I often tell clients: great design starts with great assets. Professional photography, cohesive branding, and thoughtfully designed graphics don't just make a website prettier, they shape every design decision that follows.
When those visual elements are strong, the website immediately feels more polished, cohesive, and memorable. Visitors aren't just reading about the music, they're experiencing the artist's brand from the moment they land on the homepage.
For musicians especially, album artwork is more than a cover image, it's an extension of the story you're telling. Building the website around that visual identity helped create an online presence that feels intentional, immersive, and unmistakably Stephanie.
Album Launch Focus
Instead of functioning as a general portfolio website, this site was designed to support an album release.
The homepage naturally directs visitors toward:
The new album
Featured singles
Press coverage
Recent awards and recognition
Artist biography
Booking and contact information
This creates a clear path for different audiences, whether they're fans discovering Stephanie's music, journalists looking for a press-ready biography, or festival organizers interested in booking her.
Media & Press
As an independent artist, credibility matters. The website highlights quotes from respected music publications alongside recent songwriting awards and festival recognition, allowing visitors to immediately see the momentum surrounding Stephanie's career. These features provide valuable social proof while reinforcing her growing presence within the Americana and folk music community.
Mobile Design
Music fans often discover new artists through streaming platforms and social media, making mobile design essential. That’s why every page was designed to provide a seamless experience across devices, allowing visitors to explore Stephanie's story, read press coverage, and access her newest music whether they're browsing from a desktop, tablet, or phone (this is one of the main reasons why Designing the Row loves building on Squarespace!).
