Tech Resources

There’s a lot of “tech stuff” that goes on behind the scenes of an online business… these are some of my personal favorite platforms that I use on a weekly basis for both Designing the Row® and my clients.

  • Squarespace logo

    Website Builder

Designing the Row exists because of the Squarespace platform and has been exclusively designing websites using Squarespace since 2016. Katherine has since become a “Squarespace Expert” and “Squarespace Authorized Trainer” and has created over 200 websites on the platform.

  • TubeBuddy logo

    YouTube Video Optimization

If you regularly upload content to YouTube, you need TubeBuddy in your life! I constantly check stats on TubeBuddy to help me optimize video titles, get topic ideas, and search popular keywords.

    *Pricing starts at $6/mo

  • Online Graphic Design Tool

Social media graphics, YouTube thumbnails, brand guideline documents, removing image backgrounds, slideshow presentations, EPK PDFs, podcast covers, event invites… you name it, I’ve designed it in Canva!

  • ConvertKit logo

    Email Marketing

I use ConvertKit to send Designing the Row marketing emails. I was initially drawn to the platform because of the subscriber organization and tagging options, but have loved the simplicity of the tool and recommend it for anyone who wants to send plain text marketing emails.

  • Mailchimp logo

    Email Marketing

MailChimp is my go-to recommendation for anyone getting started with email marketing. It integrates easily with Squarespace and allows you to create custom designed marketing emails and automations.

  • Google Workspace

    Email, Productivity, and Collaboration Tools

Google Workspace integrates with Squarespace, so once you connect your domain name to your public website, you can create a Google Workspace account. This includes a custom email address, Google Drive, YouTube, and more.

  • Payment Processing

If you plan to sell your services or products online, you’ll want to have a Stripe account. It’s how you allow people to pay with credit card directly through your website or other online platforms (the customer won’t know they’re using Stripe as the checkout experience on whatever platform will be seamless).

    Stock Photos

Unsplash is built-in to Squarespace so you can search free stock images as you’re creating your pages, but you can also search and use it separately as well.
