    Stop Overthinking Your Website!

If you’re looking to create a new website, whether you’re doing it yourself or you’re hiring someone else to do it for you, and if you’re feeling a little stressed about the building process, like indecision is creeping in, like any decision that you make could stick with you forever and what if it ruins your website…I have written a letter to help you through this process.

My name is Katherine Forbes, and I am a Squarespace website designer, and I’m the founder of Designing the Row where I’ve designed over 250 Squarespace websites. There’s a trend I’m seeing among clients right now where they feel like every decision they make is so heavy and so permanent, and it’s not, so I’ve written something for them (and maybe for you).

    Dear Creative Business Owner,

If you’re here because you want a website, I want you to know something important. Your website isn’t just a collection of pages and links, it’s not a checkbox on your to-do list or something that you launch and then forget about. Your website is your story, it’s the way you show up in the world, and it deserves to be treated as the powerful business asset that it is.

But here is the part that a lot of people forget: just like your business, your website is meant to grow and evolve. The decisions you make today don’t lock you into a box forever. Instead, they give you a foundation to build on. Over time, you will learn to adjust and refine. You’ll add new services, you’ll share new stories, and you’ll reach new people. Your website should be able to evolve right along with you, that’s why I design websites to be flexible and future-ready. They’re not just built to look good today, they’re built to adapt to the changes and growth that you’ll experience tomorrow.

Whether you want me to make those updates for you, or you’d rather do them yourself, I’ll make sure you’re equipped either way. Because a website that can’t evolve with your business isn’t really an asset; it’s a limitation, and I don’t believe in limitations. The best websites are ones that serve you. They help you connect with your ideal clients, share your story clearly, and create a home for your business that actually works for you. They don’t just exist online; they carry your vision forward. So, if you’re ready for a website that feels like you, that’s built with growth in mind, and that becomes one of the strongest assets in your business…I’d love to create it with you.

    With creativity and clarity,

    -Katherine.
