Changing Your Photo Colors in Canva

Today, I’m going to show you how to change the color of any image to be more on brand. I did this recently for a client removing purple from some of her photos, I brought the photos into Canva and tweaked the purple, and today we’ll be doing just that! This does assume that you already have a Canva account and some pictures ready to go, so if you’re not there yet, make that free account and come back so we’re starting at the same spot.

Here is the photo we’ll be starting with:

My primary brand colors are a sort of pink and teal, but the teal on the background isn’t exactly what I’m wanting, it’s a little bluer. Be sure you’re now in the ‘elements’ section from the menu on the left. Above the photo, I can click on the corresponding color swatch for the picture and it gives me some options on what to choose from. I already have my brand color loaded into my Canva account so it makes this super easy.

I can click through the brand color palette and it’ll change the background color with just one click. Since the starting color is close to what I’m aiming for, it’ll be a pretty seamless transition. If I’m going way out there, it could cause some more issues with the light threading around my hair and jacket for example, and that’s all you really need to know to get started on adjusting your photos to be more in line with your brand colors!

Here is how that image turned out by the way!

If you haven’t figured out your brand palette yet, though, I do have a blog for you where I help walk you through the process of nailing down your brand colors that you can check out here!
