Welcome back to my AI Visibility series where I am doing a deep dive into different tools and strategies because I’m getting new, great clients from ChatGPT so I want to figure out why and what I can do to control these results. If you haven’t read my blogs on the AI Visibility tool and the results from ChatGPT searches, click here.
Today we’re going to dive deep into my specific results from AI search and find the specific things that my business needs so you can start thinking about what your business needs. One size fits all is not going to fit all here.
Prompt Results/What to Do
In the AI Visibility tool, go to ‘manage’. You’ll go through the prompts you’ve run (you can add prompts by scrolling down and adding them to the list; you can have up to 12 prompts total per run).
I ran all my prompts initially a few months ago, and after making some changes, I ran them again recently to see how things have changed and what I need to do going forward. First we’ll cover the initial results and what I have to do about them.
In my results that linked to my business, I found:
A correct answer about my business pricing
An answer that correctly links to my website but also links to an unrelated blog post from another site (so I need to do a blog about the topic)
Correct links to my educational resources
The right link to one of my Squarespace refresh services that also contains a PDF from an unrelated site (so I need to adjust my one-page design services work and maybe bring in PDFs)
For the prompts that did not link to me, the results were:
A completely unrelated site even though the prompt mentioned me by name (I need to adjust the text on my portfolio page)
A lot of unrelated blogs with information about Squarespace design from other sites (I need to write more blogs)
Other websites that do similar things to what I do (I’ll study their sites, see what they’re doing well, and edit my site accordingly)
I am also seeing certain sites show up multiple times in answers where Designing the Row isn’t mentioned, so those are the ones I’m going to be putting my focus into because they’re clearly doing something right that I can learn from.
Updated Results
On my second run of these AI prompts, the AI Visibility tool actually made a chart so I can see how my progress has changed over time. This graph will get more complex as more data comes as time goes on, so this will start to become a really valuable tool.
Over the past few months I’ve been seeing more branded and non-branded success, especially when implementing searches that I’ve hand-picked as the sort of searches that I really want Designing the Row to show up for.
These searches can niche down in ways that connect better to my business, like focusing on industries (musicians) or locations (Nashville) that I have a long history in.
Part of my homework is to make additional tasks based on new, more specific searches I’ve added to the list, and part of your homework is to make these new searches and do the same. The default Squarespace AI searches are a great starting point, but with that data comes the next step of thinking more intentionally about what searches you want to rank for and what to do with those results.

I’ve been doing Designing the Row and building content on this platform for about 10 years. What I want to do now is work on my personal Katherine Forbes brand. Not branding about branding like I do here but branding about my music and speaking engagements.
In the next video, I’ll be showing you my process of building my own site and brand so you can learn from what I’m actually doing for my business and take these lessons to your own work.
