Get Ready for a Website: A Recent Client Win and a Hard Truth

I’ve been head down in client projects lately, so I thought why not share a recent client win with you?

That said, this win also comes with a little bit of a hard truth

Not everyone is ready for a website.

Think about it, a website showcases who you are and what you do. If you don’t have that clearly defined, creating a website is going to be a very difficult and frustrating task (for both of us, honestly).

I recently did a site for a new music trio and we went live with their site less than 1 month after they initially reached out to me. How?? I’ll tell you, because I want that for you and your project too!

When they first emailed me they sent me a doc that included the following:

✅ Link to their recent photoshoot images
✅ Font file for their site title and headers
✅ Social media links
✅ Bio about the band and individual bios on each member
✅ YouTube video links
✅ Several press quotes
✅ MailChimp email list login
✅ Domain name provider login
✅ Bandsintown account name for tour dates

This list is very specific to their goals, but you get the point! They were READY 👏🏼to 👏🏼go!

From there we discussed how to organize their pages and main menu, talked about the style and vibe they were going for, I created several color palette options for them to choose from, wrote a custom SEO description for their approval, and we were off to the races!

I always design the homepage first so we can make sure we’re on the same page (pun intended) with design style and layout. Once homepage edits are made and approved, I continue on to complete the rest of the site.

So, maybe you’re putting the pieces together here and are realizing the speed in which we can deliver you a website is very much determined by your involvement? Your content and feedback are crucial to the process and determine how quickly your new site will go live.

If you can deliver on that, I think you’ll be a great fit to work with Designing the Row and can’t wait to chat specifics with you very soon.
