There’s no need to constantly reinvent the wheel.

Hey, hi, hello! It’s me, I’m back! And I’m just going to get straight to it because I’m here with a new social media marketing challenge series, and I’m pretty excited about it.

Juggling a full schedule of website clients, creating and teaching a college course as an adjunct professor, and taking on a music marketing client all while also being a new SAHM has really just amplified how crazy I am (at least I’m aware, right?)… but it’s also forced me to really focus on the priorities.

And in doing so, a few things have become really clear.

The first thing is this…

There’s no need to constantly reinvent the wheel.

And that’s exactly the rule I want to challenge you to apply to your social media content planning for the rest of this year.

A lot of times I think we feel like in order to stay relevant, we have to keep coming up with NEW ideas. But I want you to think about all those Instagram DMs you have going with your friends and family (if your DMs aren’t full of memes/funny videos, who are you?)... the accounts that post that type of content, ONLY post that type of content. They aren’t “reinventing the wheel” with something new every other day. No! They found something that works and they’re running with it… and we all eat it up and share it all day, every day!

Challenge #1

I challenge you to take a few minutes today (right now, while you’re thinking about it) to go look at the analytics/insights of your favorite social platform to find what’s working best for you and your audience. Then, plan to post that type of content at least once a week for the rest of the year.

It’s OK if it feels “too easy.”

Stop making social media content creation stressful… and stop trying to constantly reinvent the wheel.

PS. If you make an Instagram post this week using this advice, tag @designingtherow so I can give you a like & comment!

See you in the comments very soon (I hope),
Katherine
