Quick social media audit checklist

Happy New Year! I figure, what better time to give your socials a quick audit than now, just a few days into the new year? So let's dive into social media challenge #2. Ready?

Social Media Challenge #2

After doing online audits for dozens of clients, there are several things that seem so "simple" that I constantly find myself repeating on reports over and over again.

I thought I'd do you a favor and give you this quick list. And don't roll your eyes at me until you go through it for yourself. I mean, when was the last time you actually updated that Facebook About section anyways?? Speaking of, I better go check mine now that I think about it haha

  • Make sure all your default profile images across various social platforms are the same. This will create brand consistency and give you instant visual recognition.

  • Check the social media icons on your website... like, actually CLICK them, make sure they go to the right places and that you aren't missing any like Spotify or TikTok.

  • Check your social platform outbound links (like your Instagram link in bio, Facebook CTA button, YouTube social links, etc.) to make sure those work and are up to date.

  • Update your social media profile bios, if necessary (and don't forget about YouTube).

  • For good measure, I recommend starting a spreadsheet to track what I like to call "social counts" (your follower numbers). This will give you numbers to look back on later in 2023 to measure your growth. I like to check in on my social counts monthly, but you can update your spreadsheet as often as you'd like.

  • Bonus: Wherever you have a link to your YouTube channel, add ?sub_confirmation=1 to the end of your YouTube URL and people will be prompted to subscribe once they get to YouTube (if they haven’t already). Test it out and subscribe to my channel here.
