+ Life Lessons Taught Through Music
Music lessons are so much more than just learning to read and analyze notes on a page. After over 20 years of playing piano I’ve realized how much music has taught me about life. Not only has music taught me patience, but also how to shut out distractions, how to have fun, how to appreciate and learn from life’s challenges, and to remember to occasionally do things just for myself. This presentation combines several performances of well known classical piano pieces (Liszt, Debussy, Chopin) with personal stories to shine light on how to recognize all these lessons for yourself (or your students/children) and how to use them to your advantage.
+ Getting Started in the Music Industry
This workshop is inspired by the emails I get on a weekly basis from college students telling me that: “finding a job is proving to be quite difficult” or “I fear the fact that I don’t have any experience in the music industry, and that it’s holding me back” and asking “where and how do I even get started?”
I know exactly what it’s like to be in their shoes - because I’ve been there! I graduated almost ten years ago with a dual music degree in Piano Performance and Music Technology and headed to Nashville the day after graduation because I was so eager to get my career started. But there was a problem: I’d never been to Nashville before, I didn’t have any clue as to how the industry worked, I had no connections, no interviews lined up, no place to live - nothing!
Now I run my own business designing websites for musicians and small businesses and I lead a community of thousands of young female musicians and industry professionals from all over the world. The road to success in the music business might not be as straightforward or clear cut as other industries, but the hard work is so worth it. My goal with this workshop is to introduce students to the industry to let them know what’s possible and that there’s a place for everyone to thrive!
+ Sharing Your Music & Message Using Social Media
Do you ever get overwhelmed just thinking about how much content you need to create for social media? Do you ever post on the go without much thought to your messaging because you know you need to stay active? Do you ever tell yourself you’re going to learn how to use analytics but then never do? It doesn’t have to be so stressful. In this workshop I'll teach you how I’ve grown an active online community of thousands by consistently putting all my focus into only one platform. You'll leave with a custom 1 month social media content calendar that will authentically reflect you and your music/business.
+ Creating a Strong Online Brand
This workshop will give you a glimpse into what I do with my clients on a daily basis. There are a lot of things I could show and tell you about branding, but I want you to be able to come away with something you can implement immediately - all on your own - and also give you ideas that you can continue to work on to enhance your online brand as time goes on. Since branding isn't just about logo design or a pretty website, in this workshop I'll help you figure out what your brand SAYS and how you can use that to convert visitors or followers into customers. We'll also go over what your brand LOOKS like and how to use specific tools to design like a pro.
+ DIY Your Website
These days there are various online tools that allow you to DIY your own website... but website design and content strategy are not intuitive skills. After designing over 50 websites, I’ve come up with a formula to help you DIY your own website in just one sitting. In this workshop I teach you not only how to create your own website but also how to give it a branded look with a professional layout and strategy, and you'll leave confident in your ability to maintain the site moving forward.
