Designing the Row

You love music.
You crave confidence.
You want to make more money.
You want to have influence & make an impact on those around you.

And there’s no reason you can’t have it all!

This industry we love and live is called the music business for a reason - because it’s a business. Not a side-hustle, passion project, or hobby… and it’s time you start treating it like the business that it is!

You know it takes a special person to “make it” in this industry… and you also know that you’ve got what it takes.

Music is an important part of who you are, there’s no denying that! It’s what you’re meant to do!

So, why not build your confidence and influence to be successful doing what you love?

Welcome to the Designing the Row Mastermind.

Katherine Forbes, music industry mastermind

I’m Katherine Forbes.

I moved to Nashville with a dream and no knowledge of how the industry worked... yet here I am six years later running my own business in the industry and making more money than I ever have in any full-time job.

I started playing piano when I was in second grade and I’m not kidding when I say I knew that music would always be part of my life before I even left elementary school.

Music is how I communicate... it’s how I relax and also how I pump myself up… it’s how I first discovered confidence, patience, and true passion.

So while every chapter of my music journey has begun with, "I don't know how to do this. I don't know where to start..." I continue to do anything and everything it takes to make it work because in my mind, there is no other option! (Maybe you can relate?)

But the thing is, I couldn't have gotten to where i am today all on my own...

Just like learning piano and moving to Nashville, I started my business with just a dream and passion. But dreams and passion only get you so far. I believe with the support of others there can be endless accountability, ideas, resources, collaboration opportunities, friendship, and so much more.

We all need a group of people to turn to for advice... to help us celebrate our wins... to encourage us through tough times... to keep us on track... and to help us remember why we started down this path in the first place!

And that's exactly why I'm opening up this Mastermind opportunity.

In a mastermind group, the agenda belongs to the group and each person’s participation and commitment is key. Your mastermind partners give you feedback, help you brainstorm new possibilities, and set up accountability structures that keep you focused and on track. You create a community of supportive colleagues who brainstorm together to move the members to new heights. You’ll gain tremendous insights which improve your business and personal life. Your mastermind group is like having an objective board of directors, a success team, and a peer advisory group, all rolled into one.

About the Mastermind

The Mastermind will be split into five separate tracks each with five spots. That’s only 25 spots total! The track you're in is up to you.

I will send out several questions in advance for you to prepare before the Mastermind call. During the call every person will have a 10-15 minute hot-seat opportunity to answer the questions and get feedback from the group. The questions will be different for every call and each track will have different questions and topics to discuss. I will be there to lead each call, but the overall direction of the conversations will be up to the group’s specific needs. Every call will end with setting attainable goals you want to reach before the next meeting.

When & Where

July Mastermind calls will be scheduled for the week of July 24. Exact days and times will be set depending on registrants' schedules. Mastermind call times will be hosted online through Google Hangouts and timing will vary depending on the number of attendees but can range anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hour.

*If you’re Nashville based, you’re welcome to participate in person at my office.

Music Major

This track is for Junior/Seniors who are looking ahead and preparing for life after college in the “real world.”

Are you majoring in music but aren’t sure how to apply what you’re learning to a role in the industry? (I know that was the case for me!) Let’s talk about your options, internships, balancing classes and music, and get you ready for success!

Searching for a job? (You're not alone!)

Maybe you have an internship but are ready to get paid for what you do! Maybe you’re working a job outside of the industry to make ends meet but desperately want to get in the music business - this track is for you! We’ll talk about the importance of internships but also the struggles. We'll talk job interviews, money stress, confidence, who you need to impress, and see if you might actually be trying too hard?

Are you making money on your own, but are seriously ready to take your music/business to the next level financially? The money track is for you!

You dream of the day you can spend money to spoil yourself and others - and you’d love to be investing money back into your business… but guess what - dreaming doesn’t make money! So, let’s get to work. We’ll talk strategy, mindset, workflow, marketing, budgets, and more!

Musicians only!

You have so much on your plate and not everyone understands all that you do and how draining it can be. You’re expected to be on your A game at all times of every day - but sometimes you just need space to be creative! We'll talk balancing priorities, career strategy, organization, and of course - music!

Entrepreneur / Industry

Industry only!

You love what you do and want to connect with others in the industry who are driven to create their own path to success in the industry. We'll share processes, workflows, mindsets, strategy, sales, client work lessons, and lots more.

After talking to Katherine for just an hour I left feeling inspired, enthusiastic, and ready to dive into some new career goals. She answered some questions that I have had for a while and was able to set me on the right path to a business restructure. She is super knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Thank you Katherine for all of your help. I truly appreciate you and all you have done.

How many people are in each Mastermind group?

Each Mastermind track is capped at 5 people so each attendee is guaranteed enough time and attention.

What if I sign up and then want to change tracks or add a 1-on-1 consult session?

You can change tracks and/or levels at any time depending on availability.

What if I fit into more than one track?

Pick whichever track fits what you want to work on right now. If you can't decide, mention that in the comments at checkout. And as said above, you can always change if a spot is open in another track.

How do I know if this is right for me?

Everyone has a different path, and that's why this works! There's no one-size-fits all blog post, online course, or video tutorial that can help you exactly where you are today. These Mastermind tracks are designed to help you get to the next level, so if you feel like you are meant for bigger and better things... this is for you. Still have questions, just email me and let's talk!

What's the refund policy?
