A note from my Instagram "diary"

The following is a flash back to my Instagram from November 16th of last year (2 days after I started the Music Biz Besties Facebook group).

"For awhile now (like several years) I've felt called to create a community. I truly wouldn't be where I am today without the support, encouragement, and opportunities that have come my way. So, I've felt like I should create a space to do the same for others! It was on the flight home from #designervaca when I decided that my community would finally come to life in the shape of a Facebook group. The kind of group that inspires and empowers women in the music industry to go after their dreams. My goal for week one was 30 members. Now... at the end of only day 2 - the group has already passed 200!! And 200 excited women who are totally embracing my idea of community. 💕 If you're reading this and have an idea you've been thinking on - chances are, you're not alone. Don't let the fear of the unknown hold you back... you got this! 🙌🏼 And if you want to join my group, I'd love that!"

Now, it's a year later, and the group is over 2,000 members!

To expand on my post above and give you a little dose of inspiration... that thing you want to do, it's different for everyone - but maybe you want to change jobs, or move cities, or launch your own business (yeah you know, that thing!).

Let me ask you this: what is it that scares you the most about going for it?

Do you have an answer?

I think so often we're scared of the unknown (which yes, is intimidating)... but I want you to come up with worst-case scenario fears. For example, changing jobs is scary because what if it doesn't work out and you get fired? Or what if you can't find a place to live when you move to a new city? Or what if you launch your business and no one buys your products/services?

When you can actually define your fears, it's much easier to tackle them head on! And, spoiler alert: I bet you might even notice that sometimes the "worst-case scenario" isn't even that bad.

This week I want you to start noticing when you let fear win... and when it does, I want you to ask yourself why! Once you're able to recognize and question your fears, not only are you going to become a stronger person, but the actions you take every day will come from a place of confidence! And who doesn't want that??

Are you up for the challenge?

Use this form to anonymously talk about what it is you want to do and what's holding you back. Sometimes just writing things out makes a huge difference in how we perceive situations. Give it a try...
